Every muscle from every angle.

March 01st, 2010

So anyway I walked into a gym full of the latest weight training hardware and there was some bloke swinging a cannonball with a handle all over the place. What on earth is that all about? Well the cannonball in question is called a Kettlebell and, while they might look a bit different, the results from using them are pretty dramatic.

Debate rages about when kettlebells were invented – some say in ancient Greece, some say in 18th century Russia – but there’s pretty much complete agreement on their effectiveness. Why? While kettlebells may not have all the whistles and bells of some weight training machines, using them forces you to bring a variety of muscles into play that the machines find it difficult to reach. These are often the very same muscles we use on a daily basis. LA Fitness experts says: "Kettlebells work so efficiently because they are designed to help you train every muscle from every angle."

But before you nip down the gym to give the cannonball a shot you need to understand that kettlebells will reach a whole bunch of muscles that you didn’t know you had, so it is very important that you get our coaches to show you the proper technique.
