Crews Control at LA fitness Clubs

LA fitness has launched a series of free, flash crew classes within its Clubs to boost members’ workouts. Lasting between 5 and 10 minutes, LA fitness believes these motivational group exercises will give people extra staying power* and give them more one on one time with LA coaches without having to pay an additional fee.
The classes are led by LA’s Coaches who will aim to ‘recruit’ groups of 5 or 6 people to do a blast of interval training. The teams can also do a fusion class of spin and striders that adds variety to their normal classes, and gets members working and motivating each other.
The Crews Classes focus on key fitness areas including:
- Abs Blast
- Bingo Wings Blast
- Ski Fit
- Swiss Ball-ing
LA fitness Coach (name) comments: "This is about offering added value to our members. We know that many come into our Clubs with their own personal programmes and routines but we know that people are more highly motivated when they are part of a class. These are short, sharp, fun workouts and we’re encouraging people to join in, meet other members and get to know some of our Coaches where perhaps they might not have had interaction before. It’s totally voluntary .. but we think people will enjoy them once they see others getting a kick out of them."
The Crew Classes are part of LA fitness’ new £30million refurbishment programme, and are being rolled out across LA Clubs nationally – the first will be featured in its London Clubs.
*LA fitness confirms that members who engage in group fitness, on average stay 3 months longer, and 6 months longer if they have personal coaching
