I signed up for the programme originally to support my partner than for myself, though I had let myself go a bit over the Christmas break and also wanted to get back into shape.
After signing up for a half marathon I wanted to lose some weight in preparation. At first I didn’t particularly enjoy the resistance sessions but found that the results were great, after speaking to the Fitness Instructors I started on a modified programme based more around cardiovascular and classes than resistance, to fit my goals.
I started to see results quite quickly and knowing that I had an achievable target in sight I was dedicated to my training. I ran the half marathon in my quickest ever time, knocking a good 5 minutes off my previous time. I feel after completing the programme and achieving my goals much more confident in myself and in my training.
I would advise anyone looking to start the programme to concentrate on the nutritional aspects, this is what I found hard but once I got it right I was on my way. My partner is also now in great shape, the best I have ever seen him, not only his physique but in his mood and confidence. As for myself I feel much more confident and happy plus I look a lot better.
