I was overweight which was making me feel unhealthy and left me looking old for my age. Whilst there was no evidence of an actual heart attack, I was certainly starting to show symptoms.

I started eating healthier, reducing my alcohol intake and joined LA fitness Northwich in January 2009. I then committed myself to five visits per week.

At first I started using the LA Spin and Body Pump classes on the Group Fitness Timetable. I found that the music and the team spirit in the classes kept me going and I began to find it easy. Over a period of months I introduced cardiovascular work into my programme along with core training. I then started using weights to keep my work out different and interesting.

Every 12 weeks I would see one of the Personal Trainers and this would help me update my fitness programme. LA fitness Northwich helped towards my goal with a good range of equipment and it helped to vary my exercise programme. 

I started to the notice changes within a month of my membership, I had more energy, felt healthier, was more positive and my clothes started fitting better.

So far I have lost two and a half stone. I am satisfied and healthier than I was when I first joined LA fitness. I still have some way to go before I have reached my goal, however exercise is now embedded into my daily/weekly routine.

My advice to others in a similar situation would be to join LA fitness, find exercise classes you will enjoy and get advice from a Personal Trainer. Don't be too extreme and don't give up all of the things you like!
