LA fitness Group Exercise

Last month Julie from LA fitness Milton Keynes and many more of you asked to read more about what's involved in the classes that we offer at LA fitness.

 

Your guide to Group Fitness.

Group fitness is a great way to get fit whilst having fun, meeting new people and picking up new skills. If you’re not sure where to start, or what classes are right for you, speak to one of our qualified Fitness Instructors.

Take a look at our guide to which classes fit your goal. Of course this doesn’t mean you can’t try them all out if you see one that you fancy.

 

Trim

- Spin

A fun and challenging indoor cycling workout to burn calories.

- Aqua aerobics

A fab class that burns fat and conditions your whole body.

- Step/Body step

Aerobic moves and routines to burn fat. This class involves stepping up and down on a platform.

- 20-20-20

This class will give you 20 minutes each of aerobics, step and body conditioning. Great if you fancy a bit of everything!

- Aerobics/Body Attack

An energetic workout that incorporates high and low intensity moves and routines.

- Body Combat

This aerobic style class combines moves and stances from a range of self-defence disciplines including karate, boxing, tai chi and kickboxing. This will really pick your energy levels up!

 

Tone

- Body Pump

A resistance class using barbells and adjustable weights. This class tones and strengthens all major muscle groups using a variety of exercises.

- Abs and back

A class that works the problem areas - legs, bums and tums.

- Legs, bums and tums

A conditioning and toning class that focuses on legs, bums and tums.

- Body conditioning

A dynamic solution to toning by using your own body weight or pieces of small equipment like hand weights.

- LA Core stability

This class focuses on strengthening your core using a stability ball to challenge your balance. Something fun and very different!

 

Fit

- Body balance

This is an unbeatable form of exercise, using the dynamics of yoga and tai chi and the postural benefits of pilates.

- Pilates

This class incorporates simultaneous stretching and strengthening moves focusing on core muscles, improving alignment and increasing body awareness. 

- Yoga

An emphasis on breathing, relaxation and strength, which involves gentle exercises and stretching.

- Swimming lessons

These are club-specific. Please ask a member of staff for details.

- Family swim

This is an opportunity to bring the kids along for a swim with you.

 

Train

- Boxercise

A great workout class for everyone! You'll learn the basic 8 punches to boxing and have fun getting rid of any built-up aggression. This class will teach you great boxing techniques and will enhance your co-ordination.

- Circuits

Combine cardiovascular exercise with conditioning exercises at a series of workout stations. Using a variety of equipment you'll work out at each station for set periods of time.

- Martial arts-inspired classes

There are many different types of martial arts classes such as karate, tai chi and kickboxing. All of these classes will improve your balance, co-ordination and reaction skills.
