Did you know that an alarmingly high percentage of young girls are more afraid of becoming fat than they are of nuclear war, cancer or losing their parents?
It’s pretty well known that most women feel bad about their bodies when they see models in the glamour magazines; what’s not as commonly known is that men also feel inadequate when they see those same female models. What’s really sad is the images you see in those magazines aren’t real – they’re cropped, airbrushed and computer enhanced to perfection. Want to see how it’s done? Take a look at the great video footage on the right.
If you had the benefit of that lot you’d look pretty hot too. Here’s the thing about your body: around 40% of your shape is determined by your genes. That doesn’t mean that you get to blame it on your parents, but it does mean that you need to be realistic about what can and can’t be achieved, so stop comparing yourself with glamour models and learn to love the skin you’re in. If you think you need to lose a few pounds that’s fine, but don’t do it because you hate your body, do it because you love it.
