Member Pledge

Our Member Pledge describes what you can expect from us; we might not always get it right- we’re only human, but we’ll try to ensure that we deliver our service in the most efficient way and to provide the best possible value for money for our members.


From the first cheery greeting when you step into the club, to answering a question about using a particular piece of equipment, to offering nutritional support, our team is here to cheer you on.

And as well as being friendly and welcoming, every member of our Fitness Team has a nationally recognised fitness qualification, so you can rest assured you’re in safe hands.

We offer a free group orientation to all new members aimed at introducing you to the club and all the services and programmes that we offer. The session will be run by a qualified member of the fitness team and will include information on the equipment and its safe and effective use.

You’ll have access to MYLA throughout your membership which provides access to a full group fitness timetable and preferential booking for your favourite classes, the chance to create a personalised gym programme with Programme Finder, how-to videos and much more!

All of our Personal Trainers are qualified to a minimum of Level 3 – a nationally recognised standard for Personal Trainers. In addition many also hold specialist qualifications across a wide spectrum of exercise and fitness related areas.

We’re also passionate about providing great facilities here at LA fitness and our swimming pools are no exception; from backstroke to butterfly, you can swim yourself gorgeous in our sparkling clean pools.

We’ve teamed up with the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) and Community Swimming Ltd to provide ASA Swim Schools at LA fitness, open to everyone. So you can feel confident that you, or your child, are being expertly taught by a fully qualified Coach following the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming.

And if that wasn’t enough, there’s a selection of Group Fitness Classes available in the pool, to really get your heart rate going!

You may bring guests to the club. Your friends will be required to pay a guest fee, details of which are available within your chosen club.

We may need to restrict guest admission at certain peak times. To ensure we can accommodate your guests, please call your club in advance to make an appointment.

We take club security very seriously and try our upmost to ensure we put the relevant security measures into place to protect your valuables; however valuables are left at the owners risk and we cannot accept any legal liability for any loss of personal belongings within our clubs.
If you choose to pay for your membership by Direct Debit we will help you stay on track with your membership goals by continuing your membership with us after your initial term until you advise us otherwise. When you do decide to leave us, just remember you will need to take into account your notice period which is one full calendar month. You will pay us one more payment but you will still be able to use the facilities until the end of the following month.
We take the privacy of our members seriously. Upon joining we will ask you for an email address so we can contact you regarding your membership and on occasions we may use your personal information to personalise the service we provide you. You can rest assured we will never give your personal details to any third parties.
We are committed to providing a high standard of customer service and support. We recognise that from time to time we do not get things right. When this happens, we will make every possible effort to deal with the situation promptly and to your satisfaction. You can give feedback to us either by filling in a Member Feedback card in-club, or speaking to your Club Manager.
We’ll make every effort to keep fitness fun. We’ll continue to provide our members with an exciting, varied class timetable, the latest gym kit from Technogym®, sparkling pool facilities, Primal Series® classes designed to work your body like nature intended, and a fun, friendly, energetic team to deliver it all to you!

We aim to give you everything you need to achieve success and be the best that you can be. If you select The Achieve Package when you join, you’ll be given a Personal Training Achieve session which includes a full health and fitness check with a 1-2-1 workout, plus follow up session to review and update your programme when you’re ready.

We’ll also give access to MYLA for health and fitness advice, nutritional support and class bookings, plus access to MYLA Rewards, our exclusive discount and rewards site.

This is all on top of a high security padlock to keep your belongings secure, and 3 months free membership to Weight Loss Guru giving you the motivation and behavioural tools to get you into the fitness habit – for good.

That’s more value than you can pack in your gym bag.

But we’re not all about the gym. Combining your gym workout with group exercise classes is a great way to keep motivated and see results faster. We’re committed to bringing you a full and varied class timetable, from Zumba to BodyPump™, Yoga to Pilates, there’s a class to suit everyone.

MYLA is our special digital hub for members. Whether you’re looking for some fitness inspiration, reviewing your fitness programme or updating your membership details, MYLA is the go-to place for all your fitness needs. Whether you’re at the gym or at home, we’re here to help.

Member safety and the safety of our team are of the upmost importance to us. That’s why we ensure there’s always a member of our team available who is qualified to administer First Aid.

We regularly check our fire alarms, fire escapes and equipment to ensure everything is in working order and safe for member use.

We offer a wide range of flexible membership options to best meet our member’s needs; these range from one month to longer term agreements and as with anything, if you commit to your health & fitness longer term, we’ll commit to you by giving you the best possible membership rate available – can’t say fairer than that!

Circumstances can change from time to time, so we try to be as helpful as possible.

Can’t get to the gym – can we freeze your membership? This will enable you to keep your membership active whilst giving you a bit of time to breath.

Have your finances changed? We have different membership types and it may be possible for you to change to an alternative membership option.

Are you moving? Is there another LA fitness gym close to where you are relocating?

We don’t want to lose you but if cancelling is the only suitable option then please call us for a chat and our Member Services team will be happy to assist you.

If you do wish to cancel, just remember you will need to take into account your notice period which is one full calendar month. You will pay us one more payment but you will still be able to use the facilities until the end of the following month.

For those members who are still within the initial term of their membership, we will make every effort to help. We all know that circumstances change, so we try to be as accommodating as possible. Call our Member Services Team who will be happy to help you.

We care about the environment and try to make every effort to reduce our impact on the planet, and promote good environmental practice. We regularly review our business practices to identify additional ways we can be more energy efficient.
